Pennyhill Park Hotel & Spa, Surrey

Categories: Sauna, Commercial

Location: Surrey

The 5* Pennyhill Park Hotel & Spa (home of England Rugby), chose Dröm UK to design a new dry sauna to complement their already extensive thermal suite, ahead of various international rugby teams taking up residency throughout the 2015 World Cup.

Beautiful cedar wood tongue and grooved panels clad the walls and ceiling with the two tier benching made from complementary Thermo Aspen. The contoured Thermo Aspen backrests have LED mood lighting and the lower benches have underbench LED strip lighting, both adding a warm glow to the overall relaxing ambience of the room.

Due to the size and layout of the room, we used a combination of hidden and visible heaters. The EOS Corona S60 heater, with stones and slate detail, can be used for traditional sauna experiences, where water is ladled over the stones manually to increase the heat. An S-guard safety system was installed which detects any abnormalities with the sauna heater and automatically shuts it off.

The room was finished with a feature slate wall to match the heater. The frameless glass door and frontage was decorated with etched flowers (in keeping with the Spa’s existing theme) which gives a greater visual impact yet still allows for a spectacular view across the outdoor pool and grounds.
