How Spa’s touch our senses

Guest Post by Hazel Butterfield

Why do we feel so invigorated after a spa day?

Hot spa treatments open up the skin’s pores, help the body to ward off toxins, and also encourage the body to burn calories. Additionally, deep tissue massages can help the body to break down fatty deposits through the pressure and friction exerted on the skin.  No wonder we feel great after!

The music that is played in wellbeing centres is not played purely for its soft plinky plonky tones, there are scientific elements involved. There are many attributions to the various frequencies used that encourage and contribute to balancing different areas of our psyche.

Welcome to ‘The Miracle Frequency’ – 528 Hz. The powerful sound of Love restores human consciousness & brings more harmony and balance in your life.   It also helps to create a sense of self-love and helps to alleviate the symptoms of illness.  It is recommended for a good and sound/deep sleep.  Download it now ….

Chromotherapy is the use of the visible spectrum, or coloured light, to heal the physical, mental and spiritual energy imbalance that tends to lead to disease.   It is one of the most holistic and simple methods to help heal illness.   This healing modality does not require you to consume anything, nor does it require putting anything on your body like an ointment. You simply lay or sit under the desired colour.  For example, bathe in blue light for peace and to reduce stress, green for harmony and balance or red light to energise the body.

Aromatherapy is another therapy that can be used alone or combined with chromotherapy or steam bathing.  There is a fantastic Aromatherapy Chart on PerformanceHealth.com that lists all the different benefits and uses of the different essential oils.

It should also be mentioned that the process alone of giving yourself time off, time away from the daily grind is so beneficial for our wellbeing …. to know that we are putting importance on how we care for ourselves.

It isn’t just humans that like to Spa and appreciate the benefits, so do animals – birds bathe / rhinos love a mud bath / lizards lay on rocks to heat up…
